Contents on the CD Rom

  • Pirimiphos-methyl is a phosphorothioate used as an insecticide.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl is an organophosphorus compound that inhibits cholinesterase.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl can be applied as an interior surface paint additive, in order to achieve a residual pesticide effect.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl is extensively metabolised in rats.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl was slightly irritating to skin and eye as well
    as induced mild sensitization.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl is a fast-acting broad spectrum
insecticide with both contact and fumigant action. It shows
activity against a wide variety of insects including ants, aphids, beetles, caterpillars, cockroaches, fleas, flies, mites, mosquitoes, moths, and thrips.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl (PMM) is a widely used pesticide that can be released into the atmosphere in the gas phase and the condensed phase. The
reaction of suspended PMM particles with ozone is investigated using an online vacuum ultraviolet photoionization aerosol time-of-flight mass spectrometer (VUV-ATOFMS) and a scanning mobility particle sizer (SMPS).
  • Pirimiphos-methyl is not registered for residential use in the United States. It easily hydrolyzes in the environment to 2-(diethylamino)-6-methylpyrimidine and other breakdown products, and it is not considered persistent.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl was found to be most effective against larvae of An. stephensi followed by An. culicifacies and Cx. quinquefasciatus.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl is more effective against anophelines in clean water than culicines in polluted water.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl (Actellic 50% EC), was sprayed on field-grown pepper and eggplant at the recommended rate of 0.89 kg a.c ha-1. Fruit samples were collected at 1h to 14 days after application and analysed to determine the content and dissipation rate of pirimiphos-methyl.
  • The protection of stored barley grains with the insecticide can be done by pirimiphos methyl.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl, another organophosphate insecticide, is the only alternative to malathion for use on seed corn. Because harvested corn stored as bagged seed in warehouses is extremely vulnerable to insect infestations, additional protectants would greatly benefit pest management programs.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl is fairly rapidly degraded in the environment, with a dissipation half-life measured in days.
  • The impact of pirimiphos-methyl on insects and mites in a stored-wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)ecosystem over 2 yr in western Canada has been determined.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl, an organophosphorus insecticide is known to overcome resistance mechanisms of mosquitoes to other organophosphates.
  • Pirimiphos-methyl is determined by GC with FID and internal standardization with n-octadecane.
  • An optimised method for the determination of six representative organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) (diazinon, parathion, methyl pirimiphos, methyl parathion, ethoprophos, and fenitrothion) in agricultural soils is based on microwave-assisted extraction using a water–methanol modified mixture for desorption and simultaneous partitioning on n-hexane (MAEP), together with gas chromatography–flame photometric detection (GC–FPD)
