  • Tricyclazole is a systematic fungicide, absorbed rapidly by the roots and foliage and translocated in the xylem and apoplast within the plant.

  • The minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) of hyphal melanization was adopted to detect the sensitivity of M. grisea to tricyclazole.

  • Inhibition of melanin biosynthesis lead to that M. grisea has no enough mechanical force to penetrate the cuticular layer of the host. According to this disease control mechanism, less sensitivity of melanin biosynthesis to inhibitor tricyclazole in vitro, namely more high MIC-H, then M. grisea would be more insensitive totricyclazole, namely EC50 be more high.

  • Scytalone and tricyclazole were dissolved in absolute ethanol (EtOH). Asparagine-sucrose agar(ASA) medium was modified to contain 1% EtOH without tricyclazole or scytalone, with 30 mg of tricyclazole per ml, with 1 mM scytalone, or with a combination of 30 mg of tricyclazole per ml and 1 mM scytalone.

  • Six fungicides at three rates (1.5x, 1.0x and 0.5x mg a.i/ml) were evaluated on radial growth and and regrowth of mycelia of Fusarium pallidoroseum isolated from castor (Ricinus communis) in vitro. It was observed that the fungicides (Benomyl, Benomyl + Thiram, Mancozeb, Metalaxyl-m + Thiomethoxan + Difenconazol, Tricyclazole and Carbendazim + Mancozeb) at all the concentrations tested inhibited mycelial growth and regrowth of the fungus.

  • Monosporascus cannonballus causes root rot and vine decline in muskmelons and watermelons.

  • Tricyclazole in potato-dextrose
agar (PDA) cultures blocked melanin biosynthesis by the wild types but had little effect on hexaketide production by the degenerate isolates.

  • Triazoles compounds contain a ring composed of two carbon atoms and three nitrogen atoms. A systemic fungicide, RH-124(4-n-butyl-1, 2, 4-triazole, BT), has been introduced as an experimental fungicide, possessing high selective
activity against brown rust of wheat.

  • Tricyclazole has excellent systemic properties in rice and is highly effective in field, but requires high concentration of fungicide to inhibit growth in vitro of Pyricularia oryzae.

  • Grain yield and grain milling quality as affected by blast diseases (Pyricularia grisea) were observed in fields where two systems of cultural practices were applied.

  • Fungicide (tricyclazole) sprayed different times at the panicle emergence stage in the old practice plots to control neck blast, but was not effective, while in recommended practices fungicide sprays to control neck blast was effective with less
    severity of neck blast.
