Information Profile @ a
Glance
- Ceramic bearings have the normal steel
balls replaced by white ceramic balls.
- The ceramic silicon nitride ball is by
far, smoother, harder, lighter and stronger than one made off steel.
- Ceramic Bearing is extensively applied
to the mechanical industry, and the traditional bearing usually adopts
the material made of the bearing steel( GCr15) .
- Pottery compared with traditional
bearing steel, has lower density, higher hardness, better wear-resisting
and corrosion-resisting, which can bear high temperature, diamagnetism,
insulating quality and lubricating nature, etc.
- The structure with the ceramic bearing
can be well used extensively since it is very Light as well as its low
bloated coefficient , high rotational speed , low noise and long
longevity featuring a outstanding characteristic Si3N4 ceramic bearing
is used extensively in top-grade lathe, automobile , airplanes ,
conveying machinery , vacuum machinery and general machinery .
- Si3N4 ceramic bearing is the best
choice in high-speeded rotating machines, such as high speed motorized
spindle bearings, main shaft bearings of machine tools, dental drill
bearings and computer hard disk drive bearing and so on.
- For solving corrosion problems, the
ceramic bearings are often adopted in chemical machinery, food industry
and marine industry.
- The markets for engineering ceramics
(structural,environmental and process applications)were valued at 21,275
million in Europe and $1,348 million in the United States in
2002.
- Seven multinational companies supply
>60% of the total demand. Overall, however, there are >150
significant suppliers of engineering ceramics and several dozen raw
materials producers.
- The total quantity of engineering
ceramics consumed in the United States and Europe is ~225,000 metric
tons. By weight, >90% of the total is made up of alumina or mixed
oxide ceramics such as cordierite.
