Information Profile @ a glance |
-
Herbicides are also used extensively away from the
farm, in areas such as industrial sites, roadsides, ditch banks,
irrigation canals, fence lines, recreational areas, lawns, railroad
embankments, and power line rights-of-way.
-
Several herbicides are well suited
for use in weed and brush control in natural areas.
-
Metamitron
{4-amino-3-methyl-6-phenyl-1,2,4-triazin-5(4H)-one} is a triazinone
herbicide widely used for weed control in sugar and fodder beet
plantations.
-
Its residues were found to be
relatively stable not only in plants but also in soil.
- The dose rates for metamitron are 0.35-4.2 kg
active ingredient/ha for all crops.
- The currently used weed control strategy in
sugarbeet involves a mixture of herbicides (phenmedipham, ethofumesate,
metamitron, chloridazon etc.) to control dicotyledonous
weeds.
