- Labels hold a
primary position in the identification of items. Labels are used for
the identification and differentiation of products, both raw and
finished.
- The labels carry
extra information. For example, they may show quality symbols for
the fabric the product is made from, such as wool, silk or cotton,
or it could be an eco-label.
- Development of a
high-speed, visual inspection unit provides full visual defect
recognition for the textile industry. Dirt spots and patches,
weaving
faults, missing or torn fibers, and certain errors of the label
patterns are detected.
- Thermal transfer
labels industry has experienced an enormous growth in the past
decade in Colombia. The Colombian apparel market is
demanding every day labels with more variable information, such as
size, style, references, descriptions, barcodes, etc.
- The Federal Trade
Commission (FTC) promulgated a trade regulation rule on the care
labeling of textile wearing and certain piece goods. The
purpose of the rule is to give the consumer accurate care
information to extend the useful life of a garment.
- The Textile
Labelling Act (TLA) and the Textile Labelling and Advertising
Regulations (TLAR)
are intended to protect consumers against misrepresentation
- There are very
few units in the State which are engaged in manufacturing lables.
These labels are required by each and every type of garment
manufacturing unit as well as leather products.
- The total global
value of exports of labels is more than $627 million2. Korea is the
largest exporting country with a share of 25.9% and a total value of
$162 million.
- USA is the second
largest exporting country having a share of 11.5% and a total value
of $72 million.
- A watermarking
system for embedding textile care labels directly onto fabric design
is proposed, and its stochastic properties are analyzed.
