Contents on the CD Rom

  • Penconazole is a systemic triazole fungicide with preventive and curative properties for the control of powdery mildew.
  • Penconazole is also an agricultural fungicide which is used by foliar application to control a wide range
of diseases in fruits and vegetables.
  • A rapid gas chromatographic method for determination of residue levels of one insecticide (chlorpyrifos) and four fungicides (penconazole, fenarimol, vinclozolin and metalaxyl) in grapes, must and wine is described by on-line microextraction method.
  • The disappearance of six pesticides (chlorpyrifos, penconazole, fenarimol, vinclozolin, metalaxyl, and mancozeb), which are widely used in vineyards to control berry moth, powdery mildew, downy mildew, and gray mold.
  • Penconazole is applied to pome fruits and grapes by foliar spray in EC, WP or tablet (TP) formulations alone or in a mixture with other fungicides, especially captan, dithianon, mancozeb and ziram.
  • A simple analytical method, validated in-house and intra-laboratory, has been developed for the determination of penconazole on personal protection equipment (PPE) used by operators during field applications of Topas 20EW. The analytical determination of penconazole was performed by GC-ECD. Sample preparation was based on a liquid extraction procedure.
  • Simultaneous enantioseparation of three chiral triazole fungicides i.e. penconazole, myclobutanil and triadimefon by cyclodextrin-modified micellar electrokinetic chromatography (CD-MEKC) under acidic condition was investigated with different HP-?-CD concentrations as chiral selector.
  • An orchard of grapevine was used to determine the residues of chlorpyrifos (Dursban®) and penconazole (Ofir ®) pesticides during the growing season.
  • The photolytic degradation of 14C-phenyl labelled penconazole (specific activity: 2.3 MBq/mg,
radiochemical purity 100 %) under artificial sunlight was studied following application to a silt
    loam soil.
  • Penconazole is not irritating to the skin but produced slight eye irritation in rabbits.
  • Penconazole does not degrade significantly via either hydrolysis or photolysis.
  • A Report concluded that penconazole is unlikely to be subject to long range atmospheric transport as a consequence of its likely indirect photooxidation intermediated transformation
