- Carboxin is a systemic
fungicide used to control seed and seedling diseases (smut, rot, blight)
on barley, beans, canola, corn, cotton, oats, onions, peanuts, rice,
rye, safflower, sorghum, soybeans, triticale, and wheat.
- Carboxin is slightly
toxic. Symptoms of poisoning can include vomiting and headache. Recovery
is very rapid if the exposed individual is treated quickly.
- Carboxin is rapidly
degraded to carboxin sulfoxide in soil. It has a low persistence, with a
half-life of about 3 days in soil.
- The
developmentaltoxicity
and reproduction studies performed with
carboxin did not indicate evidence for enhanced susceptibility to the
fetuses/ offspring of rats or rabbits.
- Carboxin has a
reputation as the low risk product on wheat seed.
Unlike some
triazole seed treatments Advance will not interfere with seedling
emergence but actually enhances it. Using Vitaflo C seed treatment means
you can rest easy once you’ve sown your valuable crop.
- Vitaflo C treated crops
produce strong plants with effective root
systems, an important
factor when seed bed conditions are far
from ideal.
