  • Elastic tapes are required for the purpose of holding the garments tightly.
  • Used in undergarments like briefs, panties, brassiers, baggies, children's dress etc.
  • Also found in suitcases inside straps for better grip holding and in car seats for safety driving.
  • Production process comprises types of yarn like viscose, nylon and cotton are place on creel. On preparing wrap beam is shifted to needle loom and individual threads are drawn. When the machine starts weaving, the woven tapes will come outs of the machine and finally wound on rolls. After completion of rolls are packed into polythene packs for supply.
  • An elastic tape is a warp yarn and a weft yarn , in which the warp yarn includes an elastomeric core yarn wound around by a thermo-fusible yarn which is adapted to melt in heat and bonded with the adjacent yarn.
  • The investment required for production of elastic tape including machinery &
    equipments, raw materials and other utilities which costs upto 22 Lakhs.
  • Method of forming an elastic tape including the steps of a) winding a thermo-fusible yarn around an elastomeric core yarn to form a first yarn, b) knitting the first yarn and at least a weft yarn integrally with one another with the first yarn as a warp yarn and c) heat treating the yarns to melt the thermofusible yarn to integrally bond with the adjacent yarns.
