- Bitter Almond oil is
an essential oil that provides wonderful scent and flavour.
- Sweet almond oil is
what’s known as a fixed oil while bitter almond oil is considered an
essential oil.
- Fixed oils are in
essence the carrier oils we use as a base oil whereas essential oils
are extracts from a plant material that are generally used for scent
and aromatherapy purposes.
- Sweet Almond oil is
made by pressing the
dried kernels of the Sweet Almond Tree. What comes out of the
process is the golden medicinal oil which is proven to be rich in
vitamins, minerals and fatty acids
- Bitter Almond Oil, on
the other hand, is an essential oil that is highly potent and toxic
in its pure form. It consists of glucose, cyanide and benzaldehyde.
It is only used for its delightful almond scent. It is not edible
and does not
have medicinal properties like the Sweet Almond Oil.
